Ms. Lym has been teaching voice for nearly 15 years. She specializes in the muscular and technical aspects of building the human voice, creating more color, range, agility, and expressiveness. She believes in addressing the whole person, which includes vocal building, intensive acting training, spiritual development, self-empowerment, and career mentorship.

She has taught students who went on to perform in the Broadway productions of Something Rotten and Wicked; in the Broadway National Tours of Hamilton, Cats, Catch Me If You Can, and White Christmas; and in some of the most notable regional theatres across the nation.

Ms. Lym inherited her current teaching practice from her late mentor, Richard Nickol, renowned performer and founder of the San Francisco Academy For The Performing Arts, in 2012. At the age of 18 she began teaching by his side. He continued to mentor her for more than a decade both as a teacher and a performer. In 2012, she founded Vocal Forum NYC, a donation-based platform for professional vocal training in Manhattan.

Ms. Lym’s studies include: Jungian Psychology and the student/teacher relationship at Pathways Institute; extensive training with Bobby Weinapple at Seydways Acting Studios; firsthand experience in the New York City musical theatre scene; and time with the American Conservatory Theatre and the San Francisco Conservatory of Music.

As a performer, Ms. Lym has given award-winning performances in roles which range from Maria in West Side Story to Eva Peron in Evita. For more on Ms. Lym’s performing and teaching careers visit www.MindyLym.com
