Written By Father Joe Bradley
Adapted for the Stage by Father Joe Bradley and Antonia Ehlers

By all rights, Father Joe Bradley should be dead. If past usage of beer, marijuana, and cocaine didn’t do the trick, then certainly heart failure should have. Instead, by the grace of God, he is alive, clean, sober, and a functioning Catholic priest with another man’s heart beating in his chest. But it came at a huge cost. Based on the memoir by Father Joe Bradley, this play takes the stage after a two-year pandemic postponement.

Randy Allen

Randy is delighted to be returning to Hillbarn after sharing the stage with a wonderful cast in 2019’s Mamma Mia! The Four Gifts is truly blessing to be a part of and I am excited to share Father Joe’s (universal) story of discovering the beauty in the bumps along the journey of life. He wants to thank his amazing wife and beautiful boys for always supporting his passions! Speaking of supporting – Randy will match every donation made during the run to this very personal and earnest cause below. www.creatineinfo.org/lucas

Bruce Alvin

Bruce is grateful for the opportunity to be involved in the telling of this inspiring story.   He is a transplant to the Bay Area from Phoenix where he was involved in many Theater productions and earned a BS in Theater at NAU and a MAIS: The Theraputic Value of the Theater Process at ASU. Bruce has acted locally in productions at New Conservatory Theater and East Bay Children’s Theater.  He also works in the Floral industry as a designer and spends most of his days in love with his partner Nathan.

Jeanne Barrett

Jeanne (she/her) is thrilled to be back onstage, after a career in television production and nature photography detoured her from her primary love of theater. Improv classes and “theater motherhood” (her son Jack is a Hillbarn alum) kept the stage life close to heart in recent years. Currently, Jeanne is working on a documentary about the making of a musical. (Follow along on Instagram at JinxtheMusical). Jeanne is thankful to her family: husband Pat, kids Tara, Tommy and Jack, and extended family and friends for their love and support. Jeanne is also ever grateful to the Hillbarn directorial staff and cast of The Four Gifts. A special note of gratitude to Fr. Joe Bradley and Antonia Ehlers, for their friendship and encouragement to have a role in this incredible story.

Emily Burke

Emily is so excited to be a part of the cast of The Four Gifts. While this is her first mainstage show at Hillbarn, she has done the conservatory shows here since she was little. Emily is a recent graduate from San Mateo High School and is pumped for her next adventure in college come fall. Recently, some of Emily’s favorite shows she’s been in are Crazy for You (Patsy), Hair (Sheila), and The Drowsy Chaperone (Kitty). Emily would like to thank the incredible creative team and hopes you enjoy the show!

Amanda Farbstein*

Like every post-quarantine theatre starved actor, Amanda Farbstein is deeply grateful to be a part of this production. She’s likely best known for impromptu dancing and foisting memes upon the unsuspecting, but onstage she’s better recognized from her work with SF Playhouse, Shotgun Players, CustomMade, Broadway by the Bay, PCPA, and Hillbarn (as Judy in White Christmas). She teaches a whole lot of tap, has a BA in English from Westmont College, and trained at PCPA Conservatory. She is deeply grateful to Father Joe for his story which testifies to the redemptive power and kindness of God. www.amandafarbstein.com

Marty Lee Jones

Marty Lee Jones is Thrilled to return to Hillbarn Theater. He, before the pandemic, has been seen at SF Playhouse “Born Yesterday” and “The Christians”. Hillbarn Theater, West Side Story (Shrank), Novato Theaters, God of Carnage (Michael). In the Santa Cruz theater community. Previous productions include Jewel Theater Co, productions Of Mice and Men(Slim) and House Of Blue Leaves (MP), Cabrillo Stage’s production of Judgement At Nuremberg (Judge Ives), and Much Ado About Nothing (Dogberry), and Blackbird (Ray). Numerous productions at Mountain Community Theater include August Osage County (Steve), Breakfast Of Champions (Duane Hoover), and Uncle Vanya (Astrov). He also is featured in films in Santa Cruz and San Francisco.

Palak Joshi

Palak, born and raised in Gujarat, India has been singing, dancing and acting in the bay area since the past 10+ years. From the many plays in which she has performed, the ones closest to her heart are playing characters of ‘Champa’ in ‘Sakharam Binder’ and ‘Putul’ in ‘Vrindavan’ both of these being complex, fierce and headstrong women that are confusing to the world. She hopes to play more of such interesting characters in future. She continues in her lifelong journey of learning Indian Classical Music from Shri Mahesh Kale. She is very grateful to be a part of the production of ‘The Four Gifts’.

Joseph Steely

This is my first show here at Hillbarn, from bringing the magic at Disneyland Park to the bay area theatre scene, I am very excited to help the wonderful people here at hillbarn bring to life this play about such an impactful member of the community.

Cody Wittlinger

After recently moving back to the Central Valley from Chicago, Cody Wittlinger is thrilled to be making his Hillbarn debut. Favorite roles include Jake in Lie of the Mind (Alfred H Muller Studio Theatre) and Peter in Peter and the Starcatcher and Macbeth in Macbeth (both at PCPA). He was also a founding member of Penguin Productions in Portland, Oregon. He has a lifelong love of all things cinematic and is a passionate filmmaker himself. But more importantly a diehard 49s fan. A proud graduate of PCPA Conservatory. Enjoy the show!

Johnny Villar

Johnny Villar is overjoyed to finally be performing onstage at Hillbarn, after having lived in Foster City for over a decade! A graduate from NDNU in Belmont, where he earned his B.A. in Theatre Arts in 2014, Johnny has won awards in filmmaking, acting, singing, and writing, most notably having won the Best Acting award in the 2013 International Youth Silent Film Festival. By day, he works as Patron Services Representative at Opera San Jose. This fall, Johnny will be appearing as William Smith in Coastal Repertory Theatre’s production of Murder on the Nile, opening September 30th!
