1. You play the role of the Marcy Park, what if anything, do you have in common with your character?
Marcy and I are very different. I think the only similarity that we have is that we can both be perfectionists at times. Other than that, we’re complete opposites… The biggest difference being that I’m such a giggly and silly person. You will soon learn that Marcy is none of that. Not. at. all.
2. What made you audition for 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee?
There are a few reasons why I auditioned for this show 1) Linda Piccone. She’s one of the funniest people I’ve ever worked with and seeing that she was directing this show I just knew that I had to be a part of it. 2) There’s something I love about Marcy. I’ve never played a part even somewhat similar and I knew this would be a great challenge for me.
3. Have you worked with Hillbarn Theatre before? If so, what show(s)?
I have! Most recently, I was the assistant choreographer for Hillbarn Conservatory’s Anything Goes in 2014. Before that, I was in Chicago in 2010.
4. When did you discover your love for the theatre?
In high school. I’m a San Mateo High School alumni and I really owe my love for theatre to Robyn Tribuzi and Brad Friedman. Since my first musical there, I haven’t stopped performing since. (Thank you, both!)
5. Do you have any unusual rituals you do before curtain call?
Nothing too crazy. I still get butterflies the second before I enter so I try do everything I can to shake them off!
6. What is one thing you are incredibly proud of?
Being able to maintain a full-time job and theater! It’s truly the best of both worlds.
7. What is one fact or fun thing that we don’t know about you?
I played competitive soccer growing up (and even dreamed of becoming a professional soccer player) but as soon as I took my very first dance class as a Freshman in high school, I quickly traded in my soccer cleats for pairs of jazz and tap shoes.
