What inspired you to accept a role in Sweet Charity?
I have always wanted to be in Sweet Charity. I love her optimistic outlook on life.

What do you think the audience will be discussing on their way home after seeing Sweet Charity?
I think they will be wondering why nobody really produces this show. It is rarely done.

Who would you most like to be stuck in an elevator with? Why?

When did you discover your love for the theatre?
I started performing at an early age. I loved getting dressed up and being on stage.

How did you get started in theatre?
I believe I was in second grade and the show was “Oliver”

What do you love about performing on stage?
I think I love telling the story. Finding out about characters lives and relationships.

What is your favorite and most memorable role you ever played? Why?
I would have to say Man in the Chair in The Drowsy Chaperone. His love of the theater and everything about is just wonderful. There are many levels to him and he is just a lot of fun.

If you could pick one actor/actress to perform with on Broadway, who would it be?

Do you have any wacky rituals you do before curtain call?
Not really. I am pretty boring back stage. I do crosswords or I read. My script is always at my station. Does that count?

What is one thing you are incredibly proud of?
Hmmm Not sure I will have to think about it.

What is one fact or fun thing or special/hidden talent that we don’t know about you?
I can fold my ear inside of itself.

Don’t miss your chance to see Ron Lopez, Jr., in Sweet Charity May 5-29, at the historic Hillbarn Theatre in Foster City.
