What inspired you to accept a role in Sweet Charity?
I really wanted to do Sweet Charity because Erica was directing. She was my Youth Theatre director for years and I was thrilled at the opportunity to work with her again.
What do you think the audience will be discussing on their way home after seeing Sweet Charity?
They will definitely be discussing all of the great character work. throughout the rehearsal process we’ve all been really encouraged to try lots of different things and the result is just truly amazing. It’s been so fun to see everyone take bit parts and turn them into fully fleshed out characters.
When did you discover your love for the theatre?
Besides being obsessed with the musical movie Annie (because she was also a redhead); I think I really fell for theatre when I was 5 or so and I saw Peter Pan on broadway. After Peter flew over me and showered me in pixie dust, I was hooked.
How did you get started in theatre?
I started doing after school drama programs at my school, but I joined the big leagues in fifth grade when I did my first Woodside Community theatre production.
What do you love about performing on stage?
I love that theatre is live, it means anything can happen.
What is your favorite and most memorable role you ever played? Why?
The role that holds a special place in my heart is Turtle from A Year with Frog and Toad. It was one of the silliest characters I’ve ever gotten to play, because how often do you get to play a sassy turtle? I also got to work on that show with my best friends which made it really memorable.
If you could pick one actor/actress to perform with on Broadway, who would it be?
Probably Bernadette Peters or Bette Midler.
Do you have any wacky rituals you do before curtain call?
Sometimes if my energy is a little low, I like to do some jumping jacks to get my blood flowing.
What is one thing you are incredibly proud of?
The cast and Crew of Sweet Charity, It’s going to be a hell of a show!
What is one fact or fun thing or special/hidden talent that we don’t know about you?
I hiccup like a dinosaur
