Kids Co. Spring Saturdays

Feb. 7, 2026 – March 28, 2026 (8 sessions total) / 9am – 10am

Welcome to the Imagination Station! This program introduces our young performers to the magic of theatre! Through games, storytelling, and imaginative play, children build confidence, explore creativity, and learn the basics of acting, movement, and voice in a fun, supportive environment. Watch your youngster grow in confidence and skill while discovering the joy of creative expression and the foundations for future success—on stage and beyond.

The class concludes with a free showcase for friends and family and a certificate of completion for our students.

Sample Class outline (subject to change):

Week 1 – Welcome to the Stage!
Today we’ll build comfort, confidence and trust. We’ll learn each other’s names, play some games and act out a short fairy tale together using just our bodies and expressions.

Week 2 – My Actor’s Toolbox
Today we’ll learn about our Actor’s Tools: Voice, Body, and Imagination. We’ll play an improvisation game to connect with our imaginations and then use our voices and bodies to improvise our way through a short story.

Week 3 – Big Voices, Clear Words
Today we’ll learn about our voices! We’ll experience breathing for stage voices and singing. We’ll learn some fun tongue twisters and we’ll learn how simple words like “Hello” can change when we change the tone of our voice (voice-emotion connection).

Week 4 – Acting with Our Bodies
Today we’ll dive deeper into how our bodies tell stories. We’ll play games like Follow the Leader, Character Walks (slow giant, fast mouse, sneaky cat) and we’ll create a group scene using only movement.

Week 5 – Creating Characters
Today we learn how to bring a character to life. We’ll use costume pieces to inspire us and students will ‘interview’ each other, asking simple questions about their characters.

Week 6 – Acting Out Stories
Today we’ll assign simple parts in a short script. Students will use what they’ve learned so far to bring our story off the page and onto the stage.

Week 7 – Putting It Together
Today we’ll prepare for our final class showcase. We’ll practice memorizing a line and helping each other as a team. We’ll also run through whatever stories the students decide they want to present for their friends & family.

Week 8 – Sharing Our Stories
Today is the Big Day! In our final class, we’ll do a class warm-up, play a favorite theater game or two and then present the stories we’ve worked on during the session. After the showcase, we’ll present certificates of completion to students and enjoy a brief celebration of all we’ve accomplished together!
