Welcome Friends!

Artistic Director Randy O'HaraRemember laughter? It certainly seems like nowadays anytime you turn on the tv, radio, look at your phone or read a newspaper there is something to get you down. Compound that with these past few COVID years and you’ve got a real recipe for sadness. However, you’ve come to the right place to get the perfect medicine to help you say “bye-bye” to those blues!

I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change is the comedy revue we all need right now. With its infectious score and hilarious script we are taken on a journey that uses stereotypes, satire and slapstick comedy to help us earnestly reflect on all those odd little idiosyncrasies and nuances that go into dating and partnership.
Throughout history the mating game has been at the center of society, and why wouldn’t it be? It rife with gossip, drama, betrayal, lust, love and passion- all things that keep humans engaged and hopeful… why do you think the world has been so captivated by Bridgerton?

Relationships are hard. Everyone knows this… or at least they pretend to know this. It’s only through the work and the day in and day out that you realize just how much goes into cultivating a deep and meaningful partnership. Serious work, and just when you think you’ve reached the top and are all set, you round a bend and find a whole new obstacle and mountain to climb. Sounds fun right? I can see everyone rushing out of the theatre now to go get serious and settle down.

Now take all of that and throw it out the window because you didn’t come here tonight to ruminate on serious philosophy and the meaning of love and partnership. You came to laugh. And what better place to laugh than with a group of like minded people at a theatre. You could have been anywhere tonight- but you all chose to be with us, and I think that is the smartest choice you can make! We are about to spend about two hours together being silly, sharing our hearts, and taking a minute to revel in the simple and oft overlooked aspects of dating, love, loss and the magic that is created when you share your heart with someone.

Best,
Randy O’Hara

FORWARDING HER LOVE OF THE ART

Hillbarn Theatre & Conservatory has received an extraordinary legacy gift from long-time friend and major supporter Adrienne Mitchell, who passed away on August 12, 2020, at the age of 93.

Adrienne and her late husband Bruce traveled the world extensively, visiting over 150 countries. Patrons of the arts, they enjoyed decades of opera, symphony and theater in San Francisco, as well as many trips to the Oregon Shakespeare Festival.

This major gift from the Mitchell Trust builds upon Adrienne’s previous major contribution to Hillbarn Theatre’s “Raise-the-Roof” Campaign.

We are all beneficiaries of the Mitchell’s generosity. Please take note of and enjoy much needed updates including fresh paint indoors and outside, a new sign out front, upgraded outdoor lighting, landscaping, new carpeting, lobby lighting, office computers, theater black drapes and lighting instruments. We are using this resource wisely and in ways that preserve the building, increase the safety of those who visit it and help create the magic onstage.

Thank you, Adrienne, for thinking of the joy that Hillbarn delivered to you and now to the hundreds of patrons who will benefit from your thoughtfulness and generosity.

Your gift, like Adrienne’s can make a meaningful impact on our mission. If you have included or are considering including a gift to Hillbarn Theatre, Inc. as part of your estate plan or in the form of another gift, please let us know. We would like to recognize you for your support.

Fill out this form or contact Pam Lampkin at 650.349.6411 or pam@hillbarntheatre.org
