Harper Lee, Author of "To Kill A Mockingbird", Passes Away at Age 89

The legendary Harper Lee passed away today at the age of 89, only a few months after publishing her sequel to her classic, Pulitzer Prize winning novel, “To Kill A Mockingbird”.

As some of you might have read, she never anticipated the success and notoriety she received for her beloved novel. She watched her Pulitzer Prize winning novel come to life in the Academy Award-winning film starring Gregory Peck as Atticus as well as theatre companies around the world breath life into the stage adaptation by Christopher Sergel and now Aaron Sorkin.

She will never truly be gone as her powerful words will live forever. Thank you, Harper Lee, for creating such beautiful, poignant literature and touching so many lives. We, at Hillbarn Theatre, dedicate our upcoming show to you. ‪#‎RIPHarperLee‬ ‪#‎tokillamockingbird‬
