Fly By Night is a whimsical and heartfelt musical that weaves together romance, destiny, and the transformative power of love against the backdrop of the 1965 Northeast blackout. This enchanting story follows the intertwined lives of a melancholy sandwich maker, a starry-eyed waitress, and a talented young woman on the verge of stardom. As their paths cross and their lives are changed forever, they navigate the mysteries of love, loss, and the serendipitous events that bring people together. With its captivating score and richly drawn characters, Fly By Night offers a touching and poignant journey that resonates with the beauty of unexpected connections and the magic of a single, fateful night.

Markaila Dyson (she/they) is glad to return to Hillbarn for their new season after having the privilege to take on a swing role in their production of Anastasia. They recently performed in SFBATCO’s production of The Day The Sky Turned Orange in their 2024 New Roots Theater Festival and Ray of Light’s production of Legally Blonde. Raised in San Francisco with ample opportunity to explore many art forms provided support for Markaila’s growth as an actor/performer.
Matt Herrero (he/him) is a Bay Area actor, singer-songwriter, and playwright. He has performed with ACT, Ray of Light, TheatreWorks Silicon Valley, and has shared the stage with artists like Michael Tilson Thomas (San Francisco Symphony), David Hein & Irene Sankoff (‘Come From Away’), and Rachel Lark (‘Coming Soon’ at Z Space, Ars Nova, and Joe’s Pub). As a songwriter, he has amassed millions of streams for his original songs and covers. @mattherreromusic
Sarah Jebian (she/her) recently appeared on the Hillbarn stage as Baruska in Once and Mother Abbess in The Sound of Music. Other Hillbarn credits include Closer Than Ever, The Three Musketeers, and A Little Night Music. An award-winning actor and singer, Sarah has performed professionally from CA to NYC. She is also a songwriter, recording artist, and voice teacher with a special interest in supporting women through vocal changes during menopause.

Kaylee Miltersen (she/her) returns to Hillbarn Theatre in Fly By Night. She appeared as Girl in Hillbarn’s recent production of Once and has been seen around the Bay Area in Legally Blonde (Vivienne Kensington) at Ray of Light Theatre, Violet (Violet) at Foothill Musical Theatre, Bright Star (Alice) and The Importance of Being Earnest (Gwendolyn) at Coastal Repertory Theatre, and Kinky Boots (Nicola) at Throckmorton Theatre. Kaylee runs a private voice studio in San Francisco and holds a MM in vocal performance from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music. @klee.sings
Cathleen Riddley* (she/her) is a multiple award-winning San Francisco Bay Area (and beyond) actor, having performed at ACT, Aurora, and Cal Shakes, just to name a few. She is an Artistic Associate at Marin Shakes, and a company member with Shotgun Players and PlayGround. Cathleen is expanding her horizons and adding emerging director, dramaturg, and teaching artist to her skill set. She is a certified ASL Interpreter, has an MA in Sociology from UPenn, and is passionate about social, language, and disability justice.
Chava Suarez (he/they) is thrilled to be making their debut at Hillbarn Theatre in this show. They have had the honor of performing at Woodminster Theatre previously and have collaborated multiple times with Ohlone College and are very grateful for their time there. They would like to thank all of their family, teachers, and friends for all of their support
Brigitte (she/hers) is a native Bay Area actress and theatre maker. When Brigitte is not on the stage she is taking your calls managing the Hillbarn Box office. Brigitte Is very excited to be back performing on the Hillbarn stage with such an incredible wealth of bay area talent. Some past roles include Ensemble/swing in Kinky Boots (ROLT), Kelly Manning in The Mad Ones & Heather Chandler in Heathers (PSP), Ali in Mamma Mia (San Jose Stage Co), Poppy in Noises Off (Hillbarn Theatre), Little Red Riding Hood in Into the Woods (LASC).
