Nicolette Aarons, PA

Nicolette (she/her) is a senior at SMHS who is so happy to return to Hillbarn Theatre for this years summer camp! As a senior, she hopes to study Chemisty and Musical Theatre when going off to college. During the past year, Nicolette had turned to focusing on her studies, lots of crafting, biking and keeping theatre alive online through SMHS and Theatreworld productions. She can’t wait for the day she gets to perform in front of an audience again.

Samantha Ayoob, Assistant Director and PA (Godspell)

Samantha (she/her) has been involved in performing arts from a very young age. She loves being part of the Hillbarn team both on the stage and behind the scenes. She has worked for many different theatre companies as a choreographer, assistant director, makeup lead, graphic designer, and stage manager. She is also part of the production team for Hillbarn’s new Teen Conservatory Company.

Jad Bernardo, Music Director (Godspell)

Jad Bernardo (he/him) is a music director, vocal coach, and pianist. He's worked with Opera and Broadway professionals, served as faculty/staff/coach at New York University, Adelphi University, and Broadway Method Academy, Hillbarn and ACT. Jad has music directed the "Sondheim Awards," "Evita" & "Annie" (Westport Country Playhouse); "Songs for a New World," "Fugitive Songs," "Carousel"(RedRiverLyric,OBVI); "Les Miserables," "Mary Poppins," "Hair," and "Spring Awakening" (SOOP Theater Co.);"The Fantasticks" (Millbrook Playhouse); "Footloose" and "Ragtime" (RCA,CT); "Five Guys Named Moe" (feat. Grammy Winner Nathan Best); "Ain't Misbehavin'" (Northern Stage); "Sweeney Todd" (Gerald W. Lynch Theater NYC); "The Johnny" (NYC’s 2008 Fringe Festival); "Extraordinary" (Vital Theater Co.) & Off-Broadway hit PINKALICIOUS! (New World Stages). As an actor, he was last seen as Audrey II in Hillbarn's production of "Little Shop of Horrors."

Alison Hagen, PA and Choreographer (Complete Works/Godspell)

Alison Hagen (she/her) is a rising sophomore at the University of Utah, where she is getting her BFA in Musical Theatre. Alison is overjoyed to return to Hillbarn Conservatory this summer as a staff member after teaching virtual workshops last year and performing with the Conservatory (and the Conservatory’s first Teen Company!) in years prior. Alison has also spent countless hours as a teacher at the Tutu School, where she taught ballet to children ages 2-7. Alison can’t wait to spend the summer at a theatre again doing what she loves most!

Lee Kedem, PA and Choreographer (Complete Works/Godspell)

Lee Kedem (she/her) is a rising junior at the University of Utah, where she is getting her BFA in Musical Theatre. Lee is excited to be back at Hillbarn Conservatory for her third year as a staff member after performing with the conservatory for eight years. She can't wait to spend the summer doing theatre again at Hillbarn!

Katie Maupin, PA

Katie Maupin (she/her) is thrilled to be sharing her love of theatre with Hillbarn Conservatory. She joined the Hillbarn family at a young age after performing with the conservatory and has since been seen on various stages throughout the Bay Area. When not in a theatre (onstage or off), Katie teaches ballet to young children as she firmly believes in the importance of introducing the arts to people of all ages. She is very excited to be returning to Hillbarn and looks forward to helping with their summer productions!

Allison Parker, Assistant Stage Manager (Godspell) and PA

Allison (she/her) is so excited to be back at Hillbarn and in the theatre! Prior to COVID, she was singing on board a cruise ship with Royal Caribbean Cruise Line. Allison is originally from Chico and graduated from Cal State Fullerton with a BFA in Musical Theatre. She has worked at various theatres in the Bay Area, most recently playing Sophie in Mamma Mia! at San Jose Stage Company. Allison currently lives in the East Bay and works as a Personal Trainer and Group Fitness Instructor. Favorite directing credits include Oklahoma! and Children of Eden. She has adored working with these kids and can't wait to see them shine!

Rick Reynolds, Music Director (Hair)

Rick (he/him) was the Music Director for Sister Act, Legally Blonde, Sweet Charity, Fiddler, and White Christmas, and played as a musician for many others. Other Bay Area theaters include TW, BBB, 42nd Street Moon, SJCLO, AMT, Flint Center, Pied Piper, local colleges, and schools. In the UK: Theatre Royal, Chester Repertory, Gilbert & Sullivan, and the Royal Derngate Theatre. Resident Music Director for Peninsula Center Stage, PAP, and L’Act for 9 years. Recipient of BATCC Best Musical Director Award for Jesus Christ Superstar and Dean Goodman Awards for Bells are Ringing and Oklahoma!. Contractor/Music preparation for studio recordings used by theme parks including Kings Entertainment and Marriots.

Tim Bermudez Sanders, Stage Manager and Dramaturg

Tim (he/they) is thrilled to be back at for a third summer at Hillbarn working with a new group of talented young artists! A recent graduate from Emerson College, they are now pursuing a career in directing and playwrighting. He is deeply invested in creating a new American theatre that openly challenges white supremacy culture. Directing work includes productions of “The 25th Annual Putman County Spelling Bee” and “Little Women”. They are also the author of an award-winning thesis entitled “Latine Racial Protest in the American Musical Theatre” which explores the ways Latine artists are advocating for change in the theatre industry.

Adrienne Kaori Walters, Director (Hair)

Adrienne Kaori Walters (she/her) is thrilled to be back at Hillbarn directing HAIR! She was last seen directing Hillbarn’s Spring Awakening (Summer Conservatory). Adrienne was also part of the Creative team with Hillbarn’s Teen Company and choreographed the Summer Conservatory production of Bring It On. Past credits; Peter and The Starcatcher (TheatreWorks and Hillbarn), Our Practical Heaven (Aurora), Spring Awakening (Center Rep), and Beneath the Tall Tree (TheatreFIRST) where she made her playwriting debut. Adrienne has a BA in Anthropology, a minor in Classics, and worked with an archaeological excavation in Pompeii. Love to her amazing family, Drew, and Teagan. Member of Actor’s Equity Association. Jocelyn Pickett, Director (Godspell)

Jocelyn (she/her) is ecstatic to join the Hillbarn Conservatory team for the third year! She has performed as an actor in productions throughout the Bay; (even right here at Hillbarn as Vivienne Kensington in Legally Blonde!). She grew up in the Pacific Northwest where she spent her summers hard at work as an actor, director, and choreographer at Northwest Children’s Theatre in Portland, OR. After receiving her BFA in Musical Theatre, she moved to Los Angeles then came to the Bay.  After teaching for a few years at Peninsula Youth Theatre, she found a position as a full-time Drama Specialist at Bullis Charter School. Lani Yort, Choreographer (Complete Works) and Costumes

Lani (she/her) returns to Hillbarn Theatre as a teacher after many years of being a performer. Lani grew up in the Bay Area performing in many local theater companies, such as Hillbarn, Broadway by the Bay and Peninsula Youth Theatre. She received her teaching credential from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. She has taught first grade in two Bay Area schools. Lani now teaches middle school in San Mateo. Lani has taught theater (camps, choreography, costumes, etc.) at many local theater companies, such as Hillbarn, Broadway by the Bay, Borel Drama, and Peninsula Youth Theater. Hillbarn Theatre has always had a special place in Lani’s heart.

Makena Reynolds, Director (Complete Works) and PA

Makena (she/her) is absolutely stoked to be back working at Hillbarn this summer. She is the writer/director of the web-series Theatrics Online which just aired its second season, and she is currently writing a musical based on the life and work of Emily Dickinson that will premiere this fall at the University of Utah. Along with working at Hillbarn, this summer she will be attending Yale's directing summer program. Makena would like to thank everyone at Hillbarn for making this summer so fun! She also thanks her family for supporting her through all her endeavours.
