“I fell in love with theatre in the summer of 2010 when I started attending the Conservatory at Hillbarn. Aside from forming many lifelong relationships, I learned so much about performing on-stage. That experience shaped who I am today and made me want to continue my career in theatre at Hillbarn. Almost two years ago, I applied to intern at the theatre and I got the job. I have deepened my knowledge in theatre not just onstage but also on the tech and business side.” said Garland. “I brought the idea for a Youth Conservatory cabaret to Executive Artistic Director, Dan Demers, and he supported it right off the bat. The goal of this event is to raise money to support scholarships for the conservatory so that anyone can attend regardless of their financial situation. I want everyone to be able to experience the life-changing power of theatre!”

Performers for One Day on Broadway include: Andrew Joseph, Katie Maupin, Makena Reynolds, Teagan Reynolds, Bella Ellis, Taylor Navas, Sophia Edwards, Nicholas Garland, Zach Smallman and Holden Boger. The Cabaret Coordinators are Rosie Issel and James Ambler.

Since 1941, the historic Hillbarn Theatre has served the San Francisco Bay Area by embracing this founding ideal – to create theatre with the community, for the community, striving always for excellence in production and education. Hillbarn has won a Theater Critics Circle Award, was accepted at the Edinburgh Theatre Festival, was honored with several mayoral proclamations for excellence in theatrical production and education, and received three Dean Goodman Awards for Artistic Excellence.
