Anastasia is a sweeping and enchanting musical that transports audiences from the twilight of the Russian Empire to the vibrant streets of 1920s Paris. Inspired by the beloved animated film, this dazzling production follows the journey of a brave young woman named Anya, who embarks on a quest to uncover the mystery of her past. Featuring a lush score that includes beloved songs like “Journey to the Past” and “Once Upon a December,” as well as stunning new music, Anastasia is a heartwarming and visually spectacular story of love, family, and self-discovery that will captivate audiences of all ages.

Samantha (she/her) is excited to be back performing at Hillbarn Theatre! Some favorite roles include Wendla (Spring Awakening), Doralee (9-5: The Musical), Hope Cladwell (Urinetown), Lisa (Mamma Mia!), Evelyn Nesbit (Ragtime), Chastity (Anything Goes), and Ilse (Spring Awakening). She is a recent graduate of Lewis & Clark College with a bachelor’s degree in psychology, and is happy to be back in the Bay Area.
Faustino (he/him) is a Bay Area educator and performing artist ecstatic to make his Hillbarn Theatre debut in Anastasia. Leslie (she/her) is a Bay Area native musical theater artist and worked with community theater companies like Ray of Light, Berkeley Playhouse, Broadway By the Bay, Sunnyvale Community Players, Redwood City Community Theater, West Valley Light Opera, and Pacifica Spindrift Players. Some of her past production credits include In the Heights, West Side Story, Rent, Catch Me If You Can, and The Addams Family Musical. She’s worked as an Artistic Associate for @latinemtlab, and as a performer, producer, and social media coordinator for @riseaboveitproductions and @haus_of_win. Jacqueline (she/her) was last seen at Hillbarn in A Little Night Music (Charlotte) twenty-five years ago. She was also in Tapestry and Blame It On The Movies at Hillbarn. Other favorite Bay Area productions include TheatreWorks’ Pacific Overtures (Shogun’s Mother) and Kiss Of The Spiderwoman (Marta), New Conservatory’s Ruthless! (Lita Encore), Ohlone’s Man Of La Mancha (Aldonza), Palo Alto Players’ Baker’s Wife (Genevieve), and Foothill’s South Pacific (Bloody Mary), for which she won a BATCC award. IG: @divademuro
Andrio (he/him) is a versatile performer who has extensive dance experience in hip-hop, ballet, jazz, and contemporary dance. He graduated in 2023 with a double bachelor’s degree in business marketing and dance from Saint Mary’s College of California. His most recent role was Herman/Sailor in Cabaret, Center REPertory Company and a swing for Evita, San Francisco Playhouse. Andrio also won the Gold medal at the World Choir Games 2024 in Auckland. Joe (he/him) is thrilled to join his first Hillbarn production. Gabriella Goldstein (she/her) Past credits include: Evita (Chorus) and Indecent (Halina, u/s) at San Francisco Playhouse; Nora: A Doll’s House (Nora/Christine) and The Game’s Afoot (Daria) at City Lights Theater Company; Pericles (Thaliard/Lychorida) and King Lear (Cornwall) at San Francisco Shakespeare Festival; A Doll’s House, Part 2 (Nora; SFBTCC award nomination for best Principal Actor in a Drama) and The Revolutionists (Olympe) at Palo Alto Players; and A Month in the Country (Natalya) at Stanford Repertory Theater (performed in St. Petersburg, Russia). Additional credits include the New Works and Young Playwrights Festivals at TheatreWorks, several TV/internet commercials (including Turbo Tax and Curology Skincare), and narrating audio books for Audible.com. Alex (he/him) makes his onstage debut at Hillbarn having choreographed Spamalot and Sweet Charity here. Most recently he understudied in The Far Country at Berkeley Rep. KAREN (she/her) is a Bay Area choreographer and performing artist. She recently performed with Hillbarn Theatre in Once and The Sound of Music. Regional credits include West Side Story with Opera San Jose, Chinglish with San Francisco Playhouse, and Hidden Strawberries with Stanford Live. She has worked with numerous local theatre companies and previously danced for Cassand Ballet, Decadance, Swingtime, and the Viennese Ball Opening Ceremony. Judith (she/her) Anastasia marks Judith’s debut at Hillbarn Theatre. Michael (he/they) is thrilled to be making his Hillbarn Theatre debut in Anastasia! He last performed in Alice By Heart (Bay Area Stage), and Spring Awakening (Masquers Playhouse). Under the leadership of Joyce Keil, Michael found his love for music with the Ragazzi Boys Chorus, leading him to work with companies like San Francisco Opera, San Francisco Symphony, Symphony Silicon Valley and Opera San Jose. Brad (he/him) is excited to be returning to the Hillbarn stage. He last appeared in Once as Eamon and the Guy understudy, and last Christmas as Max in The Sound of Music. Other roles at Hillbarn over the years include Bob Martindale in Perfect Arrangement, Ethan in The Full Monty, Cliff in Cabaret, and Warner in Legally Blonde. Recent roles and performances around the Bay Area include Sky Masterson in Guys and Dolls, Jamie Wellerstein in The Last Five Years, Whizzer in Falsettos, Chris Bean in The Play That Goes Wrong, and Monty in Violet. Mickey (they/them) is so happy to work with Hillbarn Theatre! They were recently part of the reading of 5 & Dime at the Theatreworks New Works Festival, the new play A Brand, A Lifestyle by Katherine Alberta, and the new Peter Pan musical revised by Larissa Fasthorse and directed by Lonny Price. Mauricio (he/him) is excited to be working at Hillbarn for the second time this year!!! Brigitte (she/hers) is a native Bay Area actress and theatre maker. When Brigitte is not on the stage she is taking your calls managing the Hillbarn Box office. Brigitte Is very excited to be back performing on the Hillbarn stage with such an incredible wealth of bay area talent.
